Your private trip to the desert will start early in the morning. It will be a 3-day drive from Marrakech to Merzouga. We will head east of Marrakech, past small towns, to the High Atlas Mountains. We will make a few stops to take photos, enjoy the scenery, stretch our legs, and drink a cup of coffee. We will travel through the majestic High Atlas Mountains. The Tizi n'Tichka pass has stunning views of the valleys and remote Berber villages. They are in the mountains. Our first major stop is the ancient ksar of Aït Benhaddou. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for its earthen architecture. It's a movie set, used in Kingdom of Heaven, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator. It is a Berber-fortified village. Cross the river separating the Kasbah from the main road and explore the village at your leisure. If you want to hire a local guide, they are available on-site. After a Moroccan lunch, continue to Dades Valley. Drive past Ouarzazate, Skoura Oasis, and Klaa Mgouna, the capital of the Valley of the Roses. People know it for its rosewater distilleries. As you near the Dades Valley, the land becomes spectacular. It has amazing rock formations and deep gorges.

Upon arrival at Boumalne Dades, follow a tiny road along the Dades River. It passes various fortified kasbahs on the way to the Dades canyons. You will arrive at your hotel late in the afternoon. You can relax and enjoy dinner, with stunning valley views. Dinner and an overnight stay at your Dades Hotel.

Your day ends in the stunning Dades Valley. It has amazing rock formations and historic fortresses. Experience Morocco's famous hospitality. This first day blends beauty, culture, and history. It sets the stage for an unforgettable adventure in the Sahara.

After breakfast at your hotel in Dades Valley, we will head to the Todra Gorge. Today, we will drive the road of 1001 Kasbahs to the Tighir oasis, a Moroccan natural wonder. The region is famous for its majestic cliffs, which rise to 300 meters. We will take a minor road along the river to Todgha. You will then stop to walk in the oasis, under the palm trees, before continuing to the Todgha Gorges. You will have time to hike through the gorge, admire the views, and take incredible photos. After some time to enjoy the huge cliffs and lunch at a local café, we will continue to Rissani. It's famous for its date market. It's also a starting point for ancient caravans that crossed the Sahara to Timbuktu. After a quick stop, we will drive through a rocky desert to Merzouga. You will arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon. At Des Dunes Lodge, take a swim in their pool. Then, get ready for your sunset desert trek to the camp. Then, prepare to meet our camel caravan. Ride your camels through the amazing, color-changing dunes at dusk. We reach our Sahara desert camp before darkness. Marvel at the changing colors of the dunes as the sun sets. Your destination is a Berber camp, where you will find warm hospitality. After some time to admire the dunes and the views, get ready for a Moroccan dinner under the stars by the campfire. Late at night, your local nomad hosts will entertain you with their local music and drums.

Rise early to witness one of the most spectacular sights in the desert: the sunrise over the Sahara. The light spreads with a gentle glow across the dunes. It casts a golden hue. This makes for perfect photos and a peaceful start to your day. After breakfast at the camp, take a sunrise camel trek through the Erg Chebbi dunes. Then, at the camp operator's lodge, shower and swim in the pool if time permits. We begin our journey back to Marrakech. We'll pass through the Draa Valley, the longest river valley in Morocco. It's lined with date palms and ancient kasbahs. We'll stop in Ouarzazate, the "Gateway to the Sahara." It's famous for its film studios and the Kasbah Taourirt. Enjoy a relaxed lunch. Then, we'll drive over the High Atlas Mountains. Your budget-shared 3-day desert tour will end in Marrakech at about 20h00. With a drop-off at your Marrakech hotel or a central location.
